Cavity Wall Insulation Benefits:
- Savings of up to 35% on home heating bills
- Reduces heat loss by up to 33%
- Takes less than a day to complete
- Suitable for new and existing builds
Up to half of the heat loss from a house occurs through the walls.
This can be reduced by two-thirds with adequate cavity wall insulation. If your house was built prior to 2006, as in most cases, it will be classed as under insulated, and will require upgrading or topping up. Most houses built before 1980 have none or little wall insulation that requires upgrading or topping up. Many homes in Ireland were designed with a wall cavity, making them suitable for cavity wall insulation, or partial fill cavity wall insulation.
What’s involved
Holes are drilled through the outer leaf of the wall which are about 25 mm (1 inch) in diameter and spaced a metre or so apart. Insulating bead is installed directly into the wall cavity along with a bonding agent by means of a blowing or pumping machine. These small holes are then filled to match the wall’s appearance.
Since the work is done from the outside, it causes minimum disturbance inside, and typically takes less than a day to complete.
A FREE survey will be carried out on your walls by a member of our team to check, and advise on specific insulation needs. Government grants are available here or call Solastech Insulation on 025 40776
